Three motorists were injured after losing control of their vehicles due to spilled oil along Mel Lopez Boulevard in Manila on Sunday, April 12, prompting a response from the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Department Medical Response Team. Authorities said the incident occurred when oil was scattered on the roadway, causing multiple vehicles to skid and resulting in injuries among the riders. A 22-year-old female sustained pain and swelling in her right hand, while a 41-year-old male reported pain in his right shoulder accompanied by swelling in his hand. Both were given first aid at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old male suffered abrasions on his left arm and left leg. After receiving first aid, he declined further transport to the hospital. The Manila DRRM Office reminded motorists to exercise caution when traveling along major roads, especially when road surfaces are compromised by oil spills or other hazards. For any emergencies, residents are advised to contact the appropriate response hotlines.
