Padilla to De Lima: Don’t take impeachment debate personally

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Robinhood Padilla reminded former senator and now Mamamayang Liberal party-list Rep. Leila de Lima that she had also been a fierce opposition figure against former president Rodrigo Duterte, saying she disagreed with many of the former leader’s policies. Padilla made the statement in a Facebook post on Thursday night, days after de Lima reacted to the senator’s remarks that it is only natural for the Minority bloc in the Senate to oppose Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment, since it is the Minority’s role to oppose.
