Strong 6.3-magnitude earthquake jolts northern Japan, no tsunami warning issued

The Japan Meteorological Agency said the earthquake’s epicentre was located off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture at a depth of 50 kilometres, adding that no tsunami warning was issued following the tremor.
