India and the UAE have signed a major strategic energy agreement under which Abu Dhabi will store up to 30 million barrels of crude oil in India’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The announcement came after talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. The two countries also discussed gas reserves, LPG supplies, defence cooperation and investments amid rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
