Police arrested a painter for illegal possession of a firearm following the service of a search warrant in Pasay City on Tuesday afternoon, May 26. Pasay City Police chief Col. Joselito De Sesto said the suspect, identified only as Enrique, 59, was apprehended at around 1:25 p.m. inside his residence on F. Victor Street in Pasay City. According to De Sesto, personnel of the Pasay City Police Substation 2 implemented the search warrant issued by Judge Rowena Nieves A. Tan of the Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 118. Recovered from the suspect was a .45-caliber pistol with a magazine loaded with live ammunition, concealed inside a green eco-bag. The suspect was brought to Substation 2 for documentation before being turned over to the Investigation and Detective Management Section for further investigation and proper disposition. The seized firearm and ammunition were also submitted to the Southern Police District (SPD) Forensic Unit for ballistic examination and firearm identification.
