Ray Trejo may be wrapping up a four-year term as Luna County Commissioner for District 1, but he is not resting on his laurels within county government. “I am not doing anything extra to win voters,” said Trejo, 62, a Democratic incumbent. “I continue and always will serve this community. “As a county commissioner, and as hard as our economy is right now, we continue to have clean audits, thus allowing us to help fund nonprofits such as the senior citizens’ center, our animal shelters and food distribution centers,” he continued. “As your county commissioner, I will ensure that our tax dollars are spent in a manner that serves our community as a whole, not certain individual organizations.” Luna County voters go to the polls next Tuesday, June 2, for the primary election. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at these three locations; Mimbres Valley Learning Center, 2300 E. Pine St.; Holy Family Parish Hall, 615 S. Copper St.; and the village library at 43 W.
