They met HYDRAA Commissioner A V Ranganath and expressed their gratitude for the agency’s quick action to protect the lake on Saturday. Several colonies representatives, including Hallmark Vicinia, My Home Avatar, Jayabheri The Summit, Jayabheri The Peaks, Sai Gowtham Colony, Pentaiah Colony, Quli Qutub Shah Colony, the Sri Sankataharana Hanuman Temple committee, and the Fishermen’s Association. They said HYDRAA’s recent work has instilled hope and confidence in thousands of families living near the lake. Furthermore, the residents said HYDRAA’s efforts have protected the lake’s ecosystem. They believe these actions brought hope and confidence to families living nearby. Additionally, the residents said HYDRAA’s work will help ensure a healthy environment and conserve groundwater. They believe this will improve living standards for future generations. They noted that children, the elderly, and others who depend on a clean ecosystem have already benefited. At the same time, the residents and associations made several requests to the Commissioner. They want HYDRAA to help fully restore the lake. Their requests include removing dumped soil to restore the lake’s water capacity, reinforcing the bund and building a walking track with more trees, clearing blocked water inlets, protecting government land within the lake’s ecosystem, and stopping garbage dumping, illegal borewells, and unauthorized construction in the buffer zone. However, HYDRAA has recently demolished illegal structures in Full Tank Level (FTL) Mushkin Cheruvu. As a result, the residents met with the commissioner and formally thanked the agency and also asked for more restoration work. ]]>
