The Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Kotpad Assistant Executive Engineer Satyanarayan Sethi in connection with a disproportionate assets case after conducting simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to him. During the investigation, vigilance officials unearthed a vast portfolio of assets allegedly owned by Sethi. The searches revealed 49 plots, including 17 benami (illegal) properties, raising serious questions about the source of his wealth. Officials also traced one benami flat and another residential flat, both worth crores, connected to him. The anti corruption agency said the assets discovered during the raids appeared to be far beyond Sethi’s known sources of income. The findings are being examined as part of an ongoing probe into the accumulation of wealth allegedly disproportionate to his earnings as a government employee.
