A milestone for education: Epson marks 2026 school building donation in Samar

Demonstrating a strong commitment to regional development and international collaboration, an executive delegation from Epson Precision (Philippines), Inc. (EPPI) conducted a meaningful visit to the province of Samar from May 28 to May 29, 2026. In response to the need for improved learning environments, Epson partnered with Plan International to support infrastructure development in two public elementary schools in Samar: Tinaogan Elementary School in Zumarraga and Balugo Elementary School in Tarangnan. Tinaogan Elementary School serves more than 180 students in 10 classrooms, with teachers and learners effectively using natural daylight for classes and maintaining class sizes of 10 to 15 students per room. Meanwhile, Balugo Elementary School supports over 91 students in 6 classrooms, with the community looking forward to facility upgrades, particularly for its roofs and ceilings, to further enhance the learning environment. A 30-million-yen donation from Epson through the partnership of Plan International, the school building initiative was successfully implemented to improve facilities, enhance access to essential utilities, and create a better learning environment for students and teachers. Through these continued efforts, the future of young learners in Samar is set to become brighter, safer, and more inspiring. School building structural design Through meticulous planning and engineering, the newly constructed early learning buildings are tailored specifically to welcome the youngest learners in Daycare and Kindergarten. Each new facility features an optimized room area of 6m x 8m, specifically designed to comfortably accommodate a spacious class size of 20 to 30 students. Built as a modern, single-floor facility, the design seamlessly includes dedicated comfort rooms within the structure, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and better environment for early childhood education.
