Video footage obtained and verified by CNN shows emergency responders loading what appears to be Senator Mitch McConnell onto a stretcher and into an ambulance outside his Washington, D.C., home on the morning of June 14, after the 84-year-old Kentucky Republican was found unconscious. The clip , filmed from a distance that obscures McConnell's face, depicts responders lifting the senator into the back of the ambulance. A neighbor who witnessed the scene told CNN that when they asked officers what had happened, they were told only that there had been a "medical emergency." The neighbor added a striking detail: emergency responders showed no signs of urgency in loading McConnell into the vehicle. "In a situation where perhaps time is of the essence, there seems to be a little bit more urgency, but there was no urgency here," the neighbor said. Another witness told CNN they observed McConnell's feet protruding from the stretcher as it was being carried from his home roughly 30 minutes after ambulances first arrived at the residence. The witness noted that the feet were "not moving" and that McConnell was not wearing an oxygen mask.
