Three women Varkaris were killed and four others seriously injured after a truck carrying dindi luggage rammed into pilgrims walking with Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s palkhi on the Saswad–Jejuri road near Pune on Monday. Police suspect the driver, who had reportedly taken fever medication, became drowsy and lost control. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
