Calcutta High Court reserves verdict in Bengal Opposition leader row; Kalyan Banerjee invokes Somnath Chatterjee

The Calcutta High Court on Friday reserved its verdict in the legal challenge over the recognition of Ritabrata Banerjee as the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly. During the hearing, Trinamool Congress MP and lawyer Kalyan Banerjee praised former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee as a model of impartiality while arguing against the Speaker’s decision.
