Finat has released the latest edition of its Radar quarterly market report, available exclusively to members, with preliminary data from Finat Radar and AWA pointing to a cautious business environment across the European label industry. Converter revenues in Q1 2026 were mostly static or slightly down compared with the same period in 2025. Finishing equipment was the most frequently cited capital investment priority, at 31 percent of respondents, while flexible packaging remained the most attractive adjacent growth market for converters, cited by 32 percent. Digitalization and automation were identified by 40 percent of converters as the most critical success factor for the next three years. Brand owners face continued pressure from material and energy costs, with 42 percent reporting increases. The edition marks the first communication from Dana Kilárska in her role as Finat president, the first woman to hold the position. In her introduction, Kilárska highlights the resilience of the European label community and sets out Finat’s guiding principles of Connect, Develop and Advocate as the framework for the association’s next chapter.
