Drug bust turns into gunfight in Cavite

LUCENA CITY – Two armed drug suspects were arrested after they attacked the police during a buy-bust operation in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Cavite, on Tuesday night. The Calabarzon police on Wednesday said the suspects, identified only by their aliases “Biboy” and “Reca,” allegedly realized that they were dealing with undercover officers after the transaction in Barangay F. De Castro at around 8:15 p.m. They reportedly fled aboard their vehicle while firing their handguns at the pursuing police officers who managed to intercept them following a brief chase.
