23,900 job vacancies offered in Ilocos Labor Day jobs fair

DAGUPAN CITY – A total of 23,905 job vacancies are available in the upcoming Labor Day jobs fair in six locations in the Ilocos region, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). More than 18,000 are for local employment while more than 5,000 are for overseas employment, DOLE 1 (Ilocos) Assistant Director Honorina Dian-Baga said on Wednesday. As of April 29, a total of 188 employers – 172 local and 16 overseas companies – were set to take part in the jobs fair. “The top 10 job vacancies are production operators with over 3,000 vacancies, labor officers with over 2,000 vacancies, customer service representatives, quality assurance officers, service crew, office related courses, financial advisors, sales representatives, cashiers, and loan officers,” she said. DOLE-1 Director Exequiel Ronie Guzman said the venues for the jobs fair are SM City Laoag in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Chavit Singson Coliseum in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur; Robinsons Mall in San Fernando City, La Union; Pangasinan Training Center in Lingayen, Robinsons Mall in Calasiao, and CB Mall in Urdaneta City, all in Pangasinan. He said other national government agencies would provide one-stop shop services to jobseekers. There will be training-seminars, Kadiwa ng Pangulo stalls, and special lanes for repatriated overseas Filipino workers, graduates of the Alternative Learning System, construction workers, and Senior High School graduates, he said.
