Aġenzija Żgħażagħ launches month-long Youth Wellbeing Festival

Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, within the Ministry for Youth, Wellbeing and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme, kicked off the "Youth Wellbeing Festival", a month of activities for youths. During the launch of the festival, panel discussions made up of various experts and youths discussed important issues affecting youths, including the impact of social media on the need for every youth to feel included and to be a full and valued member of society. The discussion also focused on the role that families, communities, schools and youth services can play in creating environments where youths feel welcomed, valued and included. Another panel discussed the challenges young people face as they go through various transitions and changes throughout their youth. A number of points were raised on how youths can be supported to face these challenges with confidence and resilience. The discussion also highlighted the skills and qualities that are most important in enabling youths to adapt to change and make positive decisions for their future. Minister for Youth, Wellbeing and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme Omar Farrugia said that this reflects the Government's ongoing work with regards to youths and their wellbeing, while also creating a space for discussion on various issues that youths face in their daily lives. He added that, as part of this Festival, a month of activities and discussions will be held to listen to youths and better understand their needs, so that decisions can then be taken in their best interests and in the interest of their future.
