A new randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that a low dose of sustained-release melatonin (Melotime) significantly improved sleep outcomes and psychological wellbeing in adults with poor sleep quality. Over 28 days, participants taking Melotime experienced longer total sleep time, faster sleep onset, fewer night-time awakenings, and improved subjective sleep quality compared to placebo. Improvements in sleep efficiency and psychological wellbeing were observed as early as one to two weeks after starting supplementation. The findings support Melotime’s efficacy and its potential as a scientifically validated, natural sleep aid.
