Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup returns on July 11, 2026

After a voluntary pause in observance of the country’s declared energy crisis, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced that it will resume the 2026 Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup season in July. The 2026 season of the racing series will restart on July 11, 2026, at the Clark International Speedway. In deference to the continuing unstable supply of fuel, TMP has opted to fuel the race cars with biofuel. TMP has stated that the TGR Philippine Cup will be a rolling laboratory where alternative fuels such as ethanol and biodiesel will be put to the test in racing conditions to help drive innovation forward. Biofuel will be used for both the Tamaraw and Vios one-make race cars. The first round of the TGR Philippine Cup was held last March on a street race at Riverpark in Cavite. The venue served as the debut of the Tamaraw OMRs. Shortly after the last race, however, tensions in the Middle East prompted the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) to postpone all their sanctioned motorsports activities. Now, AAP has resumed most of its sanctioned motorsports activities, giving TMP the green light to resume the second leg at Clark International Speedway. More details about the event will be revealed by TMP in the coming weeks.
