Villagers Face Hardships Due to Muddy Road in Nuapada District

Sinapali | May 5 (Reported by: Malay Meher): India gained independence more than 75 years ago. However, basic development still evades many rural areas. The main road connecting Kapsi Majhipada to Masharapada in the Sinapali block of Nuapada district serves as a clear example of this problem. The Ground Reality The government regularly claims to improve village infrastructure. Yet, the actual condition of this road tells a different story. The dirt path turns into a muddy stream after even a little rain. Residents find it very difficult to walk just a few steps. Impact on the Community This damaged road creates daily challenges for the local people: Students: School children struggle to reach their classes safely. They often have to walk through deep mud to get to school. Farmers: Agricultural workers face a hard time traveling to their fields and moving their supplies. Patients: Medical emergencies become very dangerous. Ambulances cannot enter the village through the thick mud. Families must carry sick patients out on wooden cots to reach the nearest hospital. Awaiting Action The villagers ask serious questions about the local administration and the government’s rural road schemes. They want to know how the local panchayat spent the development funds. They also point out the complete lack of a proper drainage system, which makes the flooding worse. The residents have filed many complaints over the years. However, the concerned officials still ignore the issue. The villagers now hope the administration will take note of this news report and build a proper road soon.
