Israel eyes control up to Litani river in Lebanon, Hezbollah warns of escalation

Defence minister Israel Katz’s declaration that Israel would establish a defensive buffer zone up to Litani river, gives a clear signal that Israel is moving beyond temporary raids and is trying to create a permanent occupation in southern Lebanon. The minister’s announcement drew an immediate warning from Hezbollah.
