Petrol and diesel prices have been increased once again, marking the third hike within 10 days. With the latest revision, fuel prices have gone up by nearly Rs 5 per litre during this period. Fuel prices have once again gone up, bringing more pressure on vehicle owners and daily commuters. Petrol and diesel rates were revised upward on May 23, making it the third increase in fuel prices within a span of just 10 days. According to the latest revision, the price of petrol has been increased by 87 paise per litre, while diesel has become costlier by 91 paise per litre. The fresh hike comes only days after two earlier revisions in fuel prices this month. A few days later, on May 19, fuel prices were again revised upward by 90 paise per litre for both petrol and diesel. With the latest revision on May 23, the total increase in fuel prices during the last 10 days has now touched nearly Rs 5 per litre. The repeated rise in petrol and diesel prices has resulted in a sharp jump in fuel costs within a short period. The latest hike has once again added to transportation and travel expenses for consumers.
